In 2025, One Mind Research celebrated 20 years
of investing in science and discovery to advance
our understanding of mental health. Since its
launch, the program has supported 54 Rising
Star Awardees, invested more than $14 million
in pioneering research, and built a national
network spanning 37 leading academic and
medical institutions. This milestone year marked
record momentum, with the highest number of
applications in program history and the largest
cohort of awardees to date, supporting 昀椀ve
exceptional early-career scientists.
In a meaningful evolution of the program, One
Mind Research incorporated lived experience
into its review process, bringing the perspectives
of people with 昀椀rsthand experience of mental
health challenges to help evaluate both the
science and the scientists behind it.
By investing early in bold ideas and emerging
leaders, One Mind Research supports innovative
approaches that may be ahead of their time or
outside traditional funding pathways. These
investments provide promising investigators
with the opportunity to develop transformative
ideas, advance discovery, and build the
